Our Disability Awareness Training course provides an in-depth understanding of disability, promoting positive interactions and inclusive practices within communities and businesses.  This course challenges cultural and attitudinal barriers, offering insights into the legislative framework that supports disability inclusion in Australia.  Participants will explore the social model of disability, practical tools for creating inclusive cultures, and myths surrounding disability.  The course also delves into Social Role Valorisation (SRV), emphasising the enhancement of social roles for individuals with disabilities to foster their inclusion and valued status in society. Additionally, it covers Duty of Care, highlighting the legal and moral responsibilities of support providers to protect clients from harm.  Finally, the course addresses the Dignity of Risk, underscoring the right of individuals with disabilities to make autonomous decisions, even those involving risk.  Designed in collaboration with people with lived experience, this training ensures a contemporary and impactful learning experience.
